Jason
Smith joined ESPN Radio in September 2005 as host of ESPN Radio’s
AllNight (1-6 a.m. ET Sunday-Thursday), with his show originating from
the 710 ESPN Radio studios in Los Angeles.
Smith had served ESPN Radio as fill-in host of
AllNight and the Saturday and Sunday GameDay shows, and guest hosted
ESPN Radio’s weekday The Herd, Dan Patrick Show, SportsBash and
GameNight programs.
Most recently, Smith also hosted afternoon
timeslots for 710 ESPN Radio, as well as the station’s pre and
post-game shows for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Angels of
Anaheim, USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins.
Smith actually began his post-graduate career in
TV production for ESPN’s SportsCenter (1993-1996), winning a Sports
Emmy for his role.Smith remained in television upon moving to the west
coast (1996-2000), producing for Fox Sports Net and KABC-TV. In 2000 he
moved into radio at XTRA Sports 1150-AM in Los Angeles, then as host at
Fox Sports Radio, first in late night and then afternoon drive.
Smith, a native of Staten Island, N.Y. is a
graduate of Syracuse University.
